This piece percolated up at the beginning of the Venezuelan crisis and what the Venezuelans are enduring. Doesn't take much for me to look at the whole horrid history of socialism in all its forms and what it does to the body and spirit.Life is tough enough, socialism just makes it so, so much worse.

The base in which the form is attached is metal. The form I sculpted out of beadboard then covered (fully adhered) with muslin followed by the fabric I dyed green.
The figure is a woman naturally, the intent is to show her threadbare existence as she emigrates to anywhere else. Covering herself with any material she could carry and taking the leftover material and fashioning a pillow to sleep at the end of the day, trying to cope and survive.
