Constructed and Toothpick Sculpted Confederate First National Flag titled; "A symbol of Loss"

There is much debate over many if not all of the symbols representing the Confederate States.

The title of this sculpture is a reminder as to the enormity of what was lost during our civil war and sadly what continues to be lost today.

I chose to sculpt this flag in 2014 and my intent and purpose in doing so was simply from the inspiration as a sculptor to do so as well as being part of our history.

The colors are "Stain" and not paint and each of the stars are also constructed out of toothpicks as well. I have mounted the rows of toothpicks on a 18" X 34" piece of 1/2" plywood that is ready to be hung.

This piece took over 200 hours to construct and sculpt.
