Betty Lou Fletcher, a retired music teacher, enjoys sharing her music and art.
She started drawing at a young age, even before learning to read and write. She used to draw pictures of people in church, as it was so hard to sit still. These characters often would make other children laugh. Then they would quickly get scolded by their parents.
Betty often paints pictures of places she has been. She could of took a photograph, but wanted to capture the feeling of being there.
She has traveled across the world with husband Matthew (retired air force),where she taught students from Asia to Europe. She likes to create mini vacations or daydreams with her music and art. She plays flute, fiddle, accordion and beginning cello. She has played gospel and traditional hymns in church. She has performed in nursing homes, senior centers and in restaurants; such as the Symes in Hot Springs (where she lives).
