I've always been interested in art since I was a young teenager. Especially indie and arthouse films. Inside, I always knew how I wanted to paint, but never knew how to express it, until I discovered Jean Michel Basquiat and Brett Whiteley.
Moving to the UK at the turn of the century was the boost I needed to finally start painting. Thanks to all the wonderful galleries and exhibitions at my doorstep for motivation.
Up until 2019, I was really only painting for myself, with no intention to sell. Losing myself in a blank canvas and painting to music helped with depression and anxiety. Nothing in the world existed when I was lost in a painting.
Over the past several years I've been finding my style, and I'm happy to say that my current style has been exactly what I've been looking for.
This year I've taken the step to start building my brand as an artist, and I'm very excited about the future and not only the new styles that I'm developing, but also looking forward to expressing myself more, and injecting more topics and interpretations of todays social and political issues.
I always paint to music, loud, letting the tunes guide my strokes.
My inspirations include: Basquiat, Willem de Kooning, Brett Whiteley, Karel Appel, Cecily Brown and Joan Mitchell, to name a few.
