After 4 years in the Air Force, I was a broadcast journalist for over 30 years, starting at a station in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and then worked for 26 years for KSAZ-TV, FOX10 News in Phoenix, Arizona.
I retired from TV to devote full time to travel writing and photography.
I had a feature program about travel and interesting people and places most of that time and traveled the Southwest extensively.
Although I was a videographer by necessity, I also carried a couple of Nikon 35 mm cameras, then added a Hasselblad system and finally a 4x5 camera. Then transitioned into the digital world.
I have taken a lot of pictures over the years, most of which will never see the light of day. If it interests me, I take a picture of it. I've done a lot of scenery work. But, everyone shoots scenery and there are a gazillion really good scenery photographers out there. The competition is fierce!
So, I shoot what speaks to me. The light at the moment. Will this look good in color? Maybe B &W? What about playing around in Photoshop or Photomatix? Will it be a rendition nobody has seen before?
I hope you find something here that speaks to you…
