Michael Barone has been an internationally acclaimed art photographer for over 35 years. His work has been shown in galleries across the United States and abroad.
In one way or another, the arts have always been in his life. Whether playing the drums in a small band or creating oil paintings at the age of twelve. He felt that being creative was my only means of self-expression.
At the age of 14, he was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis and had a hard time holding a paintbrush for long periods of time. And in his own words, he felt that his visual creativity outlet was pretty much dead.
All through high school and into college he focused on the sciences and used music as a creative outlet until the time he took an elective in photography.
He never looked back.
The camera became his vision, focusing and commenting on the world around him. Michael quickly changed majors and graduated from the University of Delaware with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in photography.
For the last 35 years, he has had a camera in his hand more days than not. His professional career started for Playboy and soon he opened his first commercial studio.
Michael's work has evolved throughout the years. Seeing the world through his lens and coaxing the viewer to see it from a different perspective whether it’s a social commentary, industrial landscape of the human form.
