Description
This is a piece I like to call “takeover.” I painted this after the loss of my best friend. The separation of the cool and warm tones are to represent the colors taking over the black and white coloring on the left hand side of the picture. This is why I took the black paint and drug it over to the right. It is meant to look as if the black paint is trying to take over the colors, representing sadness, darkness, or depression. Notice there are more colors in the painting than black and white. This is to represent that there is beauty and light in the world although the darkness tries to take over. The colors are vibrant and take over the whole painting as a way of masking the darkness and covering it up with light- or happiness.
