Spending her childhood in Brewster Cape Cod Massachusetts Amy was awarded best in Fine Art Award in Middle School. Following her younger years, she was a student at Walnut Hill of the Visual and performing Arts where her art studies continued. In 1993, she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at Syracuse University. Currently a Monroe Connecticut resident, Amy focuses on acrylic paintings of landscapes, mountains, marine life, birds and beach scenes. In her works she enjoys painting scenes that evoke aesthetic natural beauty. Her work focuses on capturing and extracting the ultimate characteristics of an object scene or animal. She gathers references of images and focuses on what matters in terms of perspective, color and mood. Her goal is to leave the viewer inspired and enlightened through her impressionistic/realistic style. Also touch of Fauvism is expressed through her use of bold colors. Whether it’s mist on the bottom of a mountain, seafoam spray on the crash of a wave or the gentle light touching the bark of a tree trunk the artist paints with eviction. Her Collections have been seen via Edith Wheeler Memorial Library, Danbury Street Festival, St. Peters Apple Festival, Artisan’s Alliance Summerfest and Monet’s Table.
