Amva is a plastic artist raised in the rural Catalan heartland.
Her depraved interest in books and editorial illustration led her steps to the publishing industry after majoring in English, which opened a door into Comparative Literature, Publishing and Illustration.
Chased by all sorts of demons, she has also been introduced to sumi-e, the expressive traditional art of Japanese brush painting, and obsessed by the mysterious ways by which art clicks with the soul, she finally graduated in Art Therapy.
Compulsively analytical, her latest artwork explores the dark side of the heart. Despite an intense affair with illustration and comic strips, she gravitates towards symbolist and surreal art especially. Magritte, John Atkinson Grimshawand and the Pre-Rephaelites are her private holy trinity.
