I like walking up to a blank canvas and making random marks and laying in color until something begins to fall into place.
I like the materials of painting. Stretching and priming canvas the brushes. The whole process. I like intense color, cadmium reds, yellows.
Sometimes I work with a theme.
In the 90's it was "Angry Cars & Crowded Freeways" 1996-97.
That series led to a one man show at the Peterson Automotive Museum that lasted for one year.
My paintings are about action and personification. The cars, buildings and roads are portrayed as living organisms. At times my paintings are humorous. I hope you enjoy my work and have a lasting patron/artist relationship.
