Andre's creative work explores the commonalities and crossovers between the natural environment, virtual landscapes, and states of consciousness. His short films have screened at festivals internationally including SXSW, Ann Arbor Film Festival and Atlanta Film Festival and have garnered many "best of" awards.

In 2019, he was awarded the prestigious North Carolina Artist Fellowship.

His teaching experience includes 2D animation (motion graphics, gif animation, character animation), filmmaking in the wild, alternative forms of filmmaking (including 16mm cameraless filmmaking, hand-processing and creative crowdsourcing), documentary and experimental film production, and video post-production.

Andre founded and is the Director of the Cape Fear Environmental Film Forum. CFEFF offers grass-roots solutions to environmental challenges by presenting environmentally themed films and galvanizing conversation between filmmakers, panels of local advocates and audience members.
