Andrea Reichert has worked for more than thirty years in various art mediums. In 2004, Andrea started working in watercolor, and went back to her first love ...of painting flowers and plants and insects. She trained in oil painting at UC Davis, Ca. and spent a year abroad at the Beaux Arts in Bordeaux, France. The time spent in Europe fed her appreciation of classical themes. Painting botanicals has become a form of meditation by concentrating and chronicling the details of fleeting life forms. The rewards are gaining intimate knowledge of graceful creations through line and color.
Andrea currently has a painting in the Alcatraz Florilegium, and is in the Botanical Certificate Program at FILOLI Gardens in California. Exhibits include UC Berkeley Annual Botanical Exhibit, Filoli Botanical Exhibit, San Francisco Flower Show (botanical education). Andrea also teaches Botanical Colored Pencil in Alameda, CA.
