Paintings and Drawings by Marcy, Gracie's Place Art Studio
Marcy spent her early years in Arkansas, and then moved with her family to California, USA, after being stricken with Polio at the age of three. Her interest in art began in childhood with a desert scene she had painted being exhibited by her school at the California Science Center in Exposition Park, Los Angeles. After she later married, her first painting, America, featuring a Bald Eagle in front of the American flag blowing in the wind, was purchased by an Executive at the Burbank Studios. Marcy sold her first painting!
Her second painting, The Lion, featured an African Lion in front of an African Plain. This painting was given as a gift to a friend.
Both of these paintings, and all of most recent artwork, may be viewed by visiting Gracie's Place Art Gallery at the following web address: https://www.amazingvirtualassistants.com/gracies-place-art-gallery
Her career took first priority throughout the years however, and she laid aside her paintbrush to help others with disabilities at a non-profit agency, the Independent Living Center of Southern California (ILCSC). Recently, she has taken up her paintbrush again and formed Gracie's Place Art Studio...which was named in honor of her shelter-rescued kitty, Grace. She now is painting all things nature, with pencil art pet portraits mixed in, as commissioned. Already, her Pet Portraits are a big hit with pet owners. They show not only the image of the pet, but capture the personality as well. Sometimes they even bring tears of joy to the owners!
Marcy has also recently founded the International Association of Artists With Disabilities! The Mission of this organization is to "Promote and Showcase the Artistic Talents of Persons Living with Disabilities." Artist Statement -
"I am fascinated by the intricate patterns of nature and the "Golden Ratio" of nature...the markings on a Tiger, a Butterfly's wings, Seashells, Aquatic life, etc. Painting these subjects has given me a new respect for the Force behind nature, “Who” created the patterns, colors and myriad of animals existing in our world, both on land and under the sea. I enjoy not only conveying the images of these animals, but also their personalities as well. I hope that you too will appreciate these things even more by viewing my paintings and drawings."
We donate 10% from all purchases to the World Wildlife Fund (WWF).
