Missoula painter Amanda Kaye Bielby is best known for her work on the Wilma Theater and Missoula County Courthouse remodeling projects. Melding art and construction in the restoration of ceiling designs in the Wilma, as well as creating several new ceiling designs. She finished over 60 columns in faux granite and matched some of the original 1900's craftsmanship in faux wood. All work was all completed by her own hand in an expedited manner.
Amanda chose Scagliola as a medium for expression. Scagliola is a technique for producing marble columns, sculptures, and other architectural elements resembling inlays in marble. The Scagliola technique came into fashion in the 17th-century Tuscany as an effective substitute for costly marble inlays. Twenty years of being a skilled laborer in construction and general painting experience gave Amanda the patience and skill to work with this labor - intensive architectural material. and her artist's hands give her the eye and detail for turning it into art. In her spare time she likes to play with photography on back packing trips and daily hikes. This helps with the cost of study and material of being a Artist in calling. See other original works at
