Gold-Tree and Silver-Tree is a Scottish fairy tale collected by Joseph Jacobs in his Celtic Fairy Tales. It is Aarne-Thompson type 709, like Snow White. This kind of story is characterized by a young woman's rivalry with an older woman, often her mother, who poisons her and puts her into an enchanted sleep.
