Description

This is an expressive landscape alcohol ink painting originally done on 5x5 inch Yupo paper, with Ranger and Pinata brand inks. This lovely piece has the dreamy feel of a tropical island escape. The technique involves a combination of drizzling, tilting, and blowing with canned air, to create the feel of the natural textures found in nature. Matte fine art paper and canvas make gorgeous reproduction prints, with beautiful saturated color. While the original piece exhibits wonderful gold metallic reflections which are impossible to realistically reproduce in a print, it truly comes closest to the look of the original when printed on fine art pearl metallic paper or brushed aluminum. My name is Shanda Louis and I live in Waukesha, Wisconsin with my husband, 3 kids, 2 bunnies, 2 cats, 1 dog, and shortly, 4 chickens.

Alchemy Artisan Works is all about transformation; from the way the raw materials I work with are transformed when creating a work of art, to the way the viewer is transformed as he or she experiences that work of art.
