I create ART with 'A Presence',
as you can see for yourself.
Colors are designed to Reach Out,
in a sense and TOUCH You,
from ACROSS the ROOM.
I use a special technique to achieve this "PRESENCE", in a Work of ART
where the Painting 'CARRIES',
from ACROSS THE ROOM
over to the viewer
to pull you toward it.
This special Artist Technique
involves the use of:
3 Hot Primary Colors
3 Cold Primary Colors.
The Hot & Cold Primary Colors are juxtaposed with a knowledgeable, conscience effort,
TO NOT MIX GRAY !
"Mixing Gray" is EASY.
However, "Gray" doesn't "Carry",
with "Colorful Luminescence".
The Only Way to Accomplish this Effect is TO NOT MIX GRAY !
This Technique is Subtle and SURPRISING.
We already know Gray is Created
by Mixing Red, Yellow and Blue.
HOWEVER, to Achieve the effect of this Technique, we must first Know:
IF "THE RED" or "THE YELLOW" that we are using to mix "ORANGE",
ALREADY HAVE "BLUE" IN THEM.
If the 'Red' is already a 'Bluish-Red'?
or the 'Yellow' is a 'Bluish-Yellow'?,
then We MAY THINK,
we're Mixing "Red" and "Yellow",
to "GET" an "Orange",
however.....: If the "Red",
or the "Yellow" we are mixing already have SOME "Blue" in Them:
"Red" (with some Blue)
+ "Yellow" ( with some Blue)
Not a Colorful Luminous ORANGE.
That is why Most Artwork you see has a Dark, Muddy-ish Appearance,
which is fine to create that mood.
But: It is still just "Over There",
expressing that somber mood,
if you want to go study it closely.
IT DOESN'T "CARRY" VISUALLY
to A DISTANCE
and have IT'S OWN 'PRESENCE', to Reach Out and TOUCH You
and DRAW YOU
from ACROSS the ROOM.
That's my Goal.
That's what I do.
That's my Art.
I began entering Art Shows, by mail, as a child and have created a montage of works during various "Periods", since that time.
My Professional Illustration Career began in 1976, after extensive Technical & Professional Illustration training, when I began Illustrating Exploded Assembly Drawings, in Ink, of Automobile Parts, for Buick,
out of my home, as a young man.
Having won First Place in Drawing two consecutive years
from The Kentucky Heritage Artists Tri-State Competition,
Judged by Gary Akers, Russell May, and Doug Adams,
I began Developing Large Watercolor Landscapes, while also Illustrating Technically Drawn Operator Instructions, Posters, Service Manuals, Logos,
Architectural Drawings, Floor Plans, Elevations, Architectural Renderings, Plant Layouts & Work Instructions,
for various Fortune 500 companies,
such as Buick, I.B.M., Hoover, G.T.E., Jerrico (Jerry's),
F.M.C. Link-Belt, Johnson Controls, Amazon.com, NASCAR, U.S.P.S.,
The U.S. Patent Office, and Toyota.
The entrance of the Digital Age,
lead to drawing all aspects of Architectural Drawings on computer, i.e., Renderings, Elevations,
Floor Plans, Plant Layouts, Site Plans, Experimental Housing Projects, Geodesic Domes, etc.
My Art Career progressed from school, to being "noticed",
to group shows, then solo shows,
and to placement in museums,
by the early 1980's.
Four pieces of my work were presented,
with signed works of Andy Warhol,
to become a part of the
University of Kentucky Art Museum, Lexington, Kentucky
(current Registrar, Maggerat Bond.)
I look forward
to using Visual Art, as my Voice,
to Create Artwork with PRESENCE and interacting with fans & collectors, during my "Act IV" Stage of Life.
