Description

This landscape was inspired by memories of my recent visit to Colorado. It is my first attempt to render rocks and boulders. I want the viewer to feel the warmth of the sun in the sky, on the field, and on the rocks. This piece was awarded the Recognized Status Blue Ribbon at Fan Art Review in September 2017.

I am a Christian individual who has retired from both law enforcement and teaching high school English. I have been creating art since childhood. I am an an award winning self-taught artist who has created works in acrylic, oils, and I am currently creating works using soft pastels. I enjoy pastels because of the diversity of techniques and surfaces available. I like the ability to immediately correct errors and the ability to complete small pieces in a single session.
