Animal: From Anima, Latin, meaning ‘mind, soul’.
I like to do high detail, realistic graphite drawings of of all creatures. My passion is wild and endangered animals, but I also love to do people and pet portraits.
I was fortunate enough to be born in Zambia, to parents who loved safari. I often spent my school holidays visiting the African game parks, seeking out beautiful creatures and adventure. I feel I developed a personal connection, or at least a deep respect for our fellow creatures during my time in Africa. I became an avid drawer and painter of animals before attending art college. Since college I moved into digital art and advertising as a CGI artist.
With these graphite animal studies, I am making my first steps back into fine art and illustration. I see them as just the first of many to come, and will soon be working with colour.
