I was born in Caracas, Venezuela, and went to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, to study Architecture, and finished it in San Francisco, CA. I would have chosen Arts, but my family wouldn't have approved it, so i did Architecture, which i do love, but my passion has always been abstract painting. I had 9 successfully years at a very prestigious Atelier d'Architecture in San Francisco, and painting was my hobby and escape from a rather rigorous schedule, until one day i decided to just stop Architecture, and fully embrace Painting, 12 years ago, and here i am, still loving it with all of my heart and soul. For a while, i sold rather well...too well perhaps, and i panicked, because my gallery was constantly putting pressure on me to paint, and it started to feel like my ordeal with Architecture, so i sabotaged myself, and cut ties with the gallery, Limn Gallery of San Francisco, and took a couple of years doing nothing, and then re-started again in 2017, working in a new format, smaller, and using Cotton paper, and also canvases, when i do bigger paintings. I am actually loving my current work, which, i believe, has evolved, and continues evolving, creating something from nothing...i never do any planning whatsoever with my paintings, and just start painting until a composition that makes me so happy emerges. I think that modern life is progressively becoming more blá, with everything moving faster and faster, and we are becoming more and more detached from everything, blasé about quality in general. So, my goal is somehow adding a little bit of color, of uniqueness, that can touch somebody's heart and senses.
