I am a South African artist traveling the world, with a taste for post the impressionist approach to painting. I studied Fine Art and Education where I majored in Sculpture, Art end English. I spent my childhood living in the rural areas of South Africa, which I feel has had a big impact in my persistent fascination with capturing nature through the painting and Drawing mediums.
I am drawn to the work of the Post Impressionists; Paul Cezanne and Henri Matisse, and find great inspiration in their simple yet calculated approach to realizing form and space. I am not selective in choosing my motif but simply paint what is around me as I travel.
I am on a journey which is not yet complete, I take pleasure in the moment, and I want my art to reflect my experiential approach to life. I am in the process of finding an artistic style that is simple and direct, which allows me to not labour over each piece for too long, and gives me the opportunity to capture new experiences from my life on a daily basis.
