After graduating from Parsons School of Design, I spent several years in commercial graphic. Like so many other artists of my generation, I found the scale and immediacy of the retail environment more stimulating. For 20 years I created display windows, special events and exhibits for Macys, both in New York and California. Today, I live in San Francisco and pursue self-defined challenges and assist entrepreneurs with image and sales promotion projects.
Both photography and illustration have played a major role in my work. I have been dissatisfied with the limits placed on photography as a design medium, particularly in its exhibit in galleries and interiors. By expanding a photo’s graphic and chromatic essence, my poster series attempts to present my photography at a scale and in a format that relates to a wall as naturally as other’s photos relate to books and periodicals.
