www.ArtPal.com/PinetinderpressJ Chatham is an Austin, Texas artist who works in oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastel, pen & ink, and other media. She has released an extensive collection of prints. Many of her prints are available with a variety of color schemes. She says: "I designed the prints with decorators in mind. Too frequently a designer will take a piece of art on approval thinking the colors will work and discover that one or more of the tones is not right in the room. I decided to try to solve that be offering images with a variety of background colors.". Her prints are categorized as digital and under prints and paintings.
The artist is a 6th generation Texan, whose father named her Jimmie after his baby brother. She is writer/author and publishes under the name "Faith Chatham." As a teenager she wrote for her hometown newspaper and exhibited her paintings. Mentored by artists Carolyn Mason and the western artist sculptor Max Cole, she began taking first place in Professional Juried competiions when she was 16. She has always signed her art "J Chatham."
She has operated creative shops producing commercial art print and electronic media, owned and operated advertising agencies, and designed tradeshow booths, retail show rooms, and consulted with builders of spec homes.
Currently she works in a studio in her apartment in Austin, Texas. She released her first novel, Blue, Illicit and Unspoken in Oct. 2019 and her second one, DIviding Line is scheduled for release in the Spring of 2020.
She is working on an exhibition of portraits featuring Irrepressible, Invincible Texas Women. It will be accompanied by a book about these mould shattering change agents. It includes Ann Richards, Lupe Valdez, Senfronia Thompson, Sandra Day O'Connor, Minnie Fisher Cunningham, Lady Bird Johnson, Molly Ivings, Donna Howard, Veronica Escobar and other Texas women.
