Percy Pilane aka Pilane Himself is a South African Artist, Graphic Designer and a graduate in Biomedical Technology, and he is based in UAE.

Why an artist?

As a kid I was drawing every day, every minute, all the time. My fascination is you and your Nature.

Why make art?

Through my work I attempt to tell people to look a little closer at the social issues, at others and their emotions, at the environment that surround them, and the everyday objects and life forms around them. I would like them to see what is there but not easily perceived. I want to bring out that which cannot be seen or felt easily. When society sees and feels clearly on these things, it provides opportunities for change in thought or appreciation of the message behind the art.
I try to express what I feel at the time hence my paintings will therefore vary in themes.
I don’t worry about my style. Style is, for me, a constantly evolving concept. My "style" changes as I improve; if not then I am dead.
People say they buy my art to make a connection with me, whether through a common background or the story behind that one particular artwork that has caught an eye.

My work is held in private, government and corporate collection local and abroad.
