Martin Gak was born in 1974 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He spent almost two decades in the US where he received his PhD in philosophy. He paints and takes photographs. His paints engages the iconography of exile, alienation, boredom and loneliness which are prevalent topics in both the existentialist and phenomenological philosophical projects. His photographic work deals with landscapes in various ways. From the traditional panoramic perspective, Gak also works at turning minimal spaces into vast visual territories.
