Images of the forgotten and mundane are given new life; they call out to me and I hear them. My inspiration is the painfully beatiful town of Galveston Texas; riddled with crumbling turn of the century homes ravaged by storms. The shore is beautiful as is the palm lined streets, but its the washed up bits of human existance that arrive on the beach that I pay attention to. Its what most don't see that I resurrect. Spirits seem to manifest themselves into shapes and colors of past lives that I capture. Their original form, discarded by society, becomes unrecognizable; only their souls remain in my work.
