"Smudged Husk" is a simple charcoal sketch depicting a firmly rooted tree sprouting from the earth. The textured tree-bark is the audacious sheath covering, what could be, a meek inner pulp.This work makes use of both regular and inverted sketching techniques. I believe it is quite powerful as it is notably simple, yet striking due to it's contrast. It is one entity with varying levels of fortitude.
