I'm a California native. I've been drawing pictures since before kindergarten. When I was 4 years old, I started drawing on my older sister's salvaged chalkboard propped against her bedroom wall. Dinosaurs and monsters were a favorite theme, along with whatever story lines I'd follow on television. My parents ran a gas station, so, I later spent many hours there, doodling with the tools of that trade - ball-point pens and paper towels from the bathrooms. Themes from mythology, Disney animation, horror comix and fantasy began to catch my interest, as well as the artwork from various rock music album covers. I eventually picked up painting skills in high school and further into college - Cal State University, Fullerton. I became intrigued with Neo-classic art while studying art history at university, and the overall process of looking at and interpreting deeper meaning within every artwork. With an MA degree in drawing and painting, I moved to Los Angeles. I've been involved in painting scenic art for the entertainment industry for over twenty years. I've had the marvelous opportunity to traverse over different parts of the world. That has helped to further engage my continuing curiosity of our social landscape. In addition, it has given me the wonderful experience of seeing up front and personal, much of the art that I'd studied early on in art history.
