The lake lies at the base of Table Rock, just outside the Table Rock State Park Headquarters office.
The day I created this image, the clouds over Greenville, South Carolina, where I live, had been absolutely stunning. I decided to drive up to the mountain to create some sunset images. Unfortunately...or fortunately, depending on how you see it, I ended up behind a tractor for several miles on a narrow road, and arrived just a few minutes after the sun had already set. The bright sunlight created this beautiful silhouette reflected in the lake, and I am very happy that it ended up this way. I love the simplicity of this image; I think it lets the beauty of the ridge line shine without the competition of a vibrantly colored sunset.
