Hi! I'm Joe! My apologies, I came on a bit too strong there. Starting out with two exclamation points is ridiculous. I think we can all agree on that. But I'm excited to tell you about my artwork! Yaaas! Ok here are some statistics.....
I have a BA in studio arts from the University of Nebraska at Kearney. I also studied at Creighton University and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts.
I'm going to skip the part where I list all the shows and gallery events I have participated in and go into the "philosophy."
It's very hard to see the big picture. That picture is very complex. Seeing that picture is not necessary. But, anyone who see's a piece of it usually becomes..........special. At the same time it's important to be able to abandon our bad/incorrect ideas when necessary. My goal as an artist is vreate works which increase mental flexibility and create more open minded people. That is why the abstract works I create often contain figures and faces that only present themselves after time spent looking deeply into them. Meditation is key. Observing thoughts and feelings as the move through you is key. There is much more and I won't succumb to mentioning Horatio in a directly pretentious Shakespeare quote.
If you have read all of this, thank you! And, I apologize for all of the flaws in the words you've read here. I hope you enjoy the artwork!
