Hi, my name is Robin Jewell Roberts. I have been creating art for most of my life, many years just as an escape or a need to get out of my head onto a canvas a thought or feeling. I still create work to get a picture or thought out.
I have given away more paintings then I have sold. When I see that someone has a need for a painting, such as a death of a loved one, etc. I feel that the talent I was given freely was for a reason and to be shared when needed.
I went back to college when I was 46 in order to study art and strengthen my skills. I consider myself a fine artist, Oils are my favorite medium, but I also work with acrylics and watercolor, air spray, encaustic art.
My grandchildren all paint, draw and express themselves through art at my home. My walls in my home and art studio is covered in their artwork. I may put some of their work on the site from time to time, good art should be showed and shared.
I am very much a realist and many of my paintings reflect that. I do enjoy fantasy and many other mediums, a natural Gemini, I get bored with just one side. I also like to dabble in photography, which you will see from time to time.
My Portfolio includes, several art awards for my work, newspaper recognition for several pieces. A mural in the St. Joseph County seat of Centreville. A juried member of the Three Rivers Artist Guild. I also do commissioned work and have worked on several large jobs, including a six foot statue of "John the Baptist".
I want to spend the rest of my life creating and exploring my talents and what can be produced through that.
