This ceramic plaque was made using horse hair. The clay body is formed, coated with white and brown terra sigillata and bisque fired. The plaque is then re-heated to 1100 degrees, and horse hair is carefully draped onto it. When it burns, it leaves an indelible mark. Then it is cleaned, sealed, and mounted on a custom frame made by us. Overall dimensions:
