Forrest Girrard

I have been painting since 2000 and paint in both oils and acrylics. I enjoy painting mostly landscapes but I do paint animals as well. Often I attempt to capture sunlight in my paintings and my main inspirations have been the paintings of Albert Bierstadt, Edward Hopper and Thomas Kinkade. I always strive to provide the viewer of my paintings with a sense of calm and the feeling that it would be great to live in one of my paintings! Most of the scenes I paint are imaginary places that don't really exist and are sometimes combinations of many different scenes put together in a creative way. I also enjoy trying to capture the feel of specific areas or regions, such as my paintings of Maine landscapes and scenes. I plan on painting other regions in the future and hope to eventually paint an iconic scene for every state in America.
