I'm Dan Abrahamsso, Swedish born & raised, now a US citizen. Since my early childhood I loved to draw and paint, which led me to pursue a liberal arts and fine arts education already as a young Swedish high school student.
I consider my works as mainly impressionistic. I try to depict and capture the visual impression, the feelings and the experience of the beautiful coastline that I encounter here in Southwest Florida.
The blue and turquoise colors of the tropical waters and the shifting effects of light and form of the vegetation are noticeable in many of my works.
I prefer working with acrylics and I enjoy using different painting techniques such as palette knives, sponges and brushes. Very often I just like to let my inner energy take charge of an abstract creation.
My goal is to leave space in my paintings for the viewer to interpret or perspectively position themselves into my artwork. True to the motto by Degas: “Art is not what you see, but what you make others see.”
