My name is David Feaman, an artist/writer living in Buffalo, NY. I can't remember a time when I wasn't drawing. I've have a pencil or pen in my hand since before I could hold a bottle (says my mom, anyway).
What I love about art is that it's never the same. It never CAN be the same. We all have different reasons for creating what we create. We all have a different way of seeing the world. Of seeing the beauty, the ugliness, the rightness, the wrongness, and the vast complexities of the world. Once seen, we all have very different ways of expressing how these complexities effect (and affect) us. Sit a hundred artists in front of a boat on a lake and tell them to draw or paint it and you'll have a hundred very different interpretations. Why? Because art is the alchemy of what the brain envisions and what the hands can create. It's IN THAT space that the reality of art exists.
I create art from the things I find beautiful. The things that stun me. That stop me dead in my tracks. There's life in inanimate objects like discarded boots or empty window wells or dead crabs belly-up on a sunny beach in the summer. That's what drives me to create.
