Tony Durso was born in Massachusetts and grew up in the Boston area. He attended Bartlett School in Arlington where he displayed a talent for art at an early age. He continued his passion for art at Belmont Hill School where he studied with the notable artist, Pranas Lape, from Lithuania, as well as the well known teacher and artist, Whitey Morange. He also studied with the very great artist, John Petralia, from Sicily. At Tufts University Tony benefited from the affiliation with the Boston Museum of Fine Art School and attended courses in painting, sculpture, and art history. He also studied bronze casting at the Massachusetts College of Art.
He currently resides in Sarasota, Florida.
