Growing up one of my favorite things to do was to go inside a storage closet and pull from the very back a huge leather portfolio that kept a collection of art by my father. So many different styles composed with an array of materials. Some with pencil, others ink, pastels, and watercolor. There was a common theme I noticed throughout most. The theme of either pointillism or stippling. I loved pulling the artwork out spreading each piece across the floor to study them. Even though I was around the age 5 or 6 the black leather portfolio was like a window which gave me another perspective to the strict military father, I often thought him to be. Throughout the years I never saw my dad do any other artwork. He doodled and built furniture in his spare time but never finished one picture. Fast forward twenty plus years and life had slowed down. My father picked up his utensil once again and handed me a stack of drawings. He wanted me to have them to do whatever with. He was just thankful and happy to be in touch with a part of himself he had neglected for so long. With each batch of drawings, I witnessed a renewed identity that was lost but now thankfully found again. It was awesome to see him living in his gift and in doing so gave Him freedom and peace that melted away years from his face.
I do not know of one creative person content with not creating. It is my belief we are all creative. Maybe not in the same way or with the same talent as others but somewhere inside of every one of us it was put there by our creator. For an artist who has a gift that brings him internal joy, that is something they were meant to do. To say that I am thankful my Father started creating again is an understatement. It was a blessing for me to see and experience. The pieces I have displayed in my home and office have always received a great deal of attention. I was encouraged by an admirer to share with others and give life to the pieces that gave life again to my dad. When you stop in to look at this site or any of our others sites take your time. Look through our galleries to find a piece that speaks to you. Art for us is a very peronal thing. Every piece means a lot to me and I would like for them to mean something for everyone who would like to make a purchase. That is why we offer originals and prints there is something in all price ranges. We want our company to be more of a relationship and encourage to hear any comments or feedback you might have! This venture means a lot to me. It takes me back again to that little girl admiring all the beautiful pieces from my fathers portfolio.
I would love to share more and answer any question anyone might have! Please don't hesitate to contact me.
