I’ve enjoyed art since I was a child. I remember having a great time in the art club in high school. I am a retired/disabled teacher now and my youngest child just left for college in Switzerland; therefore, I have a lot of free time to get back to enjoying myself and my passion of creating art. I’ve always dreamed of being a full time artist. I wanted to be a National Geographic photographer and travel the world when I was in school. Now that I’m done raising my sons, am no longer able to work as a teacher, disabled, and at the age of 50 I finally have the chance to try. I have plenty of time since I won’t be meeting the needs of my two sons and about 200 6th graders full time. I really enjoy taking old stuff or broken stuff and giving it new life in my artwork. I like to rummage through old jewelry at flea markets and find items that speak art and design to me. My brain runs away with ideas of what to make with this pendant or that lonely broken earring. I enjoy family, friends, traveling and making lots of memories. I’ve always made murals and collages to display photos, awards, accomplishments, and memorabilia at home and at school. I feel that items could be uniquely designed and displayed for family and friends to admire or at the very least, a conversation starter about a special memory. My ideal, dream job would be to have clients send me memorabilia and let me design a collage customized especially for them. I have done a few and now I’m hooked on it and want to do it as a career.
