I started drawing and writing stories when I was 4 or 5 years old. My muse was always animals and I spent hours reading books and watching shows about them, memorizing their conformations and coat patterns, and even acting like them! My mom was the Director of the Children's Museum in South Dartmouth, MA, and it was the perfect venue for animal-obsessing!
After graduating from the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth, with a degree Writing & Communications, I pursued freelance illustration and licensing. I was fortunate enough to have contracts with OESD (Oklahoma Supply & Design) and Cherokee Uniforms, to name a few.
As time went on, and in an attempt to make a more consistent living, I worked my way into the veterinary field as a technician. I had multiple dear cats who required nursing care at home, and medicine always fascinated me, so it seemed like a natural transition.
Art always remained crucial to my soul, though, so I continued to build up my portfolio as often as time would allow, and have recently started offering commissioned pet portraits.
I hope my whimsical world of furred, finned, and feathered friends brings you the same joy that I had in creating it. If there is something you're looking for but don't see, please don't hesitate to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. I might have just the thing in my extended portfolio!
