I have been quite surprised by the magnitude of the world wide emotion triggered by her death. I think it is because she represented stability, maybe also her scarce and measured communication in a dark period with many threats and turmoils. To illustrate this personal view, I have chosen a sharp contrast between a black and a bit ominous background and warm colors with shades of gold, ocre, bronze and brown.
The portrait can also be seen very simply as a queen with in background a forest at night.
The color choice also evokes an old picture with sepia colors.I opted for a classical and figurative style.
