When I was a little girl I loved horses. My dad would take my sister and I to ride as often as he could, and my great aunt raised races horses on her farm. Some of my most favorite memories were spent at her house and helping her with the horses. Occasionally she would even let me tag along with her to the race track to watch the horses run. One summer, when I was about 8 years old, a colt was born and she named him after me. Race horses never have typical names, and this one was no different. His name was "One For Misty".
For me, as a child, this was a highlight of my life.
Recently, I crossed paths with a 13-year-old girl named Savannah who not only loves horses, but also loves to paint. Savannah was diagnosed with inoperable osteosarcoma just a few short months ago. With all her treatment expenses mounting, I decided to name this piece after her and donate a portion of all proceeds from this painting to her family to help cover medical expenses. This is "One For Savannah."
