This ceramic plaque was made using horse hair and copper matte glaze. The clay is rolled out and cut into pieces. Horse hair pieces are coated with white terra sigillata and bisque fired. The plaque is then re-heated to 1100 degrees, and horse hair is carefully draped onto it. When it burns, it leaves an indelible mark. Copper matte pieces are glazed, and raku fired. All parts are then mounted on a custom frame made by us. Overall dimensions:
