I made this painting in honor of the unique Japanese holiday held on July 7th called Tanabata, also called the Star Festival in English. This painting features a colorful night sky of deep blue, cut in half by a purple and green milky way. Stars painted with gold and silver paint are splashed across the milky way. In the foreground silhouettes are painted with ink, and paper with wishes on them hang from the branches.
