Many Blacks, African Americans, and people of Color have this view that they have been portrayed by this hidden history as something that is not human, their intelligent will never be on par as those around them, and that their brain capacity is never enough. As the works of previous artist in Art History have shown, such as the illustrations of Coon Caricature which is still alive today, and the much liked forgotten images in anatomy books of skeletal bone structures showing how different other races were viewed. Not to forget Sarah “Saartjie” Baartman, and her horrific experience as an anatomy exhibition, shown no respect even after death. I do not view myself as an ape, or anyone else for that matter but not every being has that point a view. Some bring up the point of skin color as a way to revert back to their past ways, and to reject those around them. This piece is to bring up the questions “What do you see in this image?” “Do you see a monkey?”
