This is another wet-on-wet oil painting by yours truly, original and signed down at the bottom there. The style is in keeping with my favorite kind of analogous color palate, and not just because I don't like having to clean my brushes a ton between colors. Anyway, it's got some sky, some lake, some forest, the usual. The real focal point of this one is the islet(that's a tiny island) in the middle with a tree on it. I don't have a canon story for what that one tree is doing on it. Was it planted there? Did it cut all the toxic trees out of its life? Has it been exiled for a gruesome tree crime? Maybe there was a valley here before, and a dam broke upriver, flooding the valley and killing all of the trees surrounding our solitary boi here. Maybe he stands alone in memory of the countless trees lost that day. I know I wood.
