High Street , Nantwich was re built after the great fire destroyed the whole of the town in 1583 .The bookshop [ no , 46 ] was built for a Thomas Churche [ a linen merchant ] and his family. Another member of this wealthy family, had Churches Mansion built which was one of only three buildings to survive the fire .
