This artwork is more of a social statement than a political one but I think it might cut both ways. I got this idea when I realized I wasted about 12 years of my life watching TV and movies. I thought if I had read about a subject or practiced playing the guitar I might have gotten more out of my time. I made the victims in this piece brains chained to TVs and told over and over again by the TVs in the background that it is their god. I kept the brains which represents everyone in the world from books the most powerful form of getting information that has ever existed in my opinion. I have done this with an ink drawing on a white background with a checkered pattern to break up the floor and catch the viewers eyes. I have used Western books because basically that's all I know and the titles fitted on the books. I hope this piece brings out the idea that we as a world society spend much too much time watching life on TV instead of living it. I hope you want this piece on your wall.
