Watercolor paintings by worldwide collected equine artist SC Joyner. Suzanne is known for her dreamy, colorful freehand drawn equine watercolors. Suzanne does not accept commissions because she refuses to work from photographs. She believed that using reference materials was holding her back from true expression. Instead of allowing photographers to dictate her art she was now in full control of her art works. She works with many natural stone watercolors including Hematite, Turquoise, Serpentine, Lapis Lazuli, Mummy Bauxite, Black Tourmaline, Sodalite, Fuchite, Pipestone, Purpurite, Piemontite Tiger's Eye, Amazonite and Amethyst. Shading is achieved by carefully manipulating the mineral stone particles. These naturally derived pigments give the paintings a subdued look compared to the synthetic paints of today.
