This is an abstract alcohol ink painting originally done on 6x6 inch ceramic tile, with Ranger and Pinata brand inks. Inspired by my mother, who shares the spiritual teachings of The Grandmothers who cast their Net of Light to cradle the world and bring peace and healing. The technique involves a combination of drizzling, tilting, and blowing the inks with compressed air to create the feel of flow and movement. Matte fine art paper and canvas make gorgeous reproduction prints, with beautiful saturated color. While the original piece exhibits wonderful gold metallic reflections which are impossible to realistically reproduce in a print, it truly comes closest to the look of the original when printed on fine art pearl metallic paper or brushed aluminum.
