As a kid, I lived a block from the city park. At the center of the park was a round, stone fountain. It had water in it in the early days. I would stop by on the way home from school to watch the leaves floating on the water. I spent a lot of time in that park to get away from a small, crowded house. All of the stonework in the park was built by the WPA in the 1930s. It was a special place that no longer exists in that wonderful form. I did these paintings mostly from memory to show future generations what it used to look like.
